Step 1 – Let’s chat

Every company is unique.  That is the starting philosophy when beginning our recruitment process. Our partnership begins by meeting with all the personnel involved in the hiring and managing of the position. We want to learn what the job entails, what they expect and would like to see from prospective candidates in terms of skills, experience and behaviours, how they plan to measure success, what support will be given, the culture of the team, and other points needed to know what is their “ideal candidate”.

Step 2 – Let’s get hunting

Once we understand your company’s culture, preferences and requirements, a variety of methods and techniques will be used to find your future rock star employee such as sourcing, referrals, job posts, database searches and our favourite – headhunting.

Step 3 – The Interview (phone and in-person)

We will create specific questions to gage not only the applicant’s work skills and experience, but also their personality traits and behaviours.

Step 4 – Let’s role play

Interviews can begin to uncover if a candidate is suitable for the position and will fit well with a company’s culture. To truly see how a person performs, however, RMSG believes that unscripted Role Plays reveals and tests the following candidate skills:

  • Selling
  • Customer Service
  • Public Speaking
  • Problem Solving
  • Management
  • Teamwork
  • And others

 

In this day and age of readily available information, the answers for many common interview questions can be rehearsed… a Role Play session can not.

Step 5 – Presentation of Candidates

RMSG will present to you the final candidates that passed our screening process and best match the ideal candidate profile. We ask for feedback within 48 hours.

Step 6 – References

We ask for a minimum of two working references to verify all of the information gathered during the interview and to gain further insight into the applicant’s work ethics, strengths and weaknesses.

Step 7 – Background Checks

RMSG can perform a variety of information checks including:

  • Credit Check
  • Criminal Reference Check
  • Work Reference Check
  • Personal Reference Check
  • Educational History Check
  • Certification Check (e.g. Canadian Securities Certification)
  • Driver’s License Check (e.g. Clean driving record)

 

Step 8 – The Offer

RMSG can help draft an offer of employment on your behalf outlining the placement’s start date, compensation, direct reports, vacation allowance, benefits and requirements (e.g. dress-code).
